Ansa Sunil is a first-generation immigrant from Kuwait and India. She hopes to earn a PhD in Psychology while continuing to focus on gender studies after her graduation in May 2026.
Ansa’s coursework heavily informs her advocacy on campus, urging her to tend to the needs of the community and individuals. She has worked with Dr. Tabetha Violet on the Intersectionality Symposium, which hosted about 200 people to create awareness about disabilities and how we as a community can create tangible changes while including the people we serve in the process.
Outside of classes, Ansa regularly attends clubs such as Psi Chi Honors Club as well as Mixed at Mizzou to keep up with her career and excel in her academic life. She is also a well-being peer and works with Student Health and Well-Being. Her hobbies include astronomy, anthropology and arts.
