Brittony Corneillier has worked at Mizzou since 2014 in admissions and academic advising.

MACADA, established in 1992 as an organization dedicated to supporting the development and professional growth of academic advisors in Missouri, presented the awards at its annual conference, which was hosted online Sept. 17.

“I love getting to know our students individually and building relationships with them,” says Corneillier, who grew up in Keystone, Colorado, and has a BA ’09 in international studies from MU. “Each student has a unique story, and there are individuals on this campus that help challenge our students and help them discover something new about themselves. Many of us had an important figure in our lives when were undergraduates, and I hope to be a small piece for our students.”

MACADA Annual Advising Award honorees are nominated by peers and receive one-year’s membership in the organization, which provides opportunities for professional development, developing connections and leadership for higher-education professionals throughout Missouri.

Corneillier has also received the College of Arts and Science Advisor of the Year and the Mizzou Excellence in Advising awards, both for 2021.

“I appreciate the amazing colleagues that I work with at the University of Missouri,” Corneillier says. “Student success at a university takes a team of people and Mizzou has some amazing people working here.”
