This prop is the embodiment of the character Hester Swane in the production By The Bog Of Cats. Black Wing froze to death on the bog the night before. Her death represents Hester and her intertwined fate. This prop Swan had to look dead. I needed the audience to see this immediately as an feathered animal. An obvious animal shape but also it had to look “not quite right.” Not just dead but helpless. It had to convey a sense of dread to the audience.
