The University of Missouri is committed to keeping students as safe and healthy as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic. Show-Me Renewal outlines the university’s comprehensive plan for campus safety precautions. Student Affairs’ summary of expectations includes additional links Tigers might find helpful. And the town hall video below also addresses many questions students, staff, faculty and parents might have about Mizzou’s Fall 2020 semester.

Read on for additional details and links to resources pertaining to departments overseen by the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies.

Campus Space for Online Classwork

Don’t have time to get home before your online class starts? Quiet places on campus allow you to attend your courses while still practicing social distancing. Whether you have an online class scheduled too close to an in-person class, or just need somewhere to attend your online courses without distractions, use this resource to find a study space. Study spaces include first-come-first-serve class room desks, study room reservations, individual desk reservations, and general open seating in the MU Student Center and Memorial Union.

Learning Center

The Learning Center office is open during regular building hours, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday.

MU Student Success Center

Our largest program is Tiger Tutors, which features drop-in sessions for the courses with highest demand and highest enrollment on campus. We have already gone completely virtual and our tutors are using Zoom to meet with students. We have static Meeting ID codes that will remain the same all semester so that students never need to question where to access academic support. Students can enter the Zoom meetings at any time during the sessions and can stay as long as they would like.

Our website is updated with all Tiger Tutors Zoom Meeting IDs, and we’ll keep it updated throughout the semester should things change. Students can click on their desired subject to see the Meeting ID, as well as the days and times for the sessions for that subject.

Another resource through the Learning Center is NetTutor. The Learning Center has worked with NetTutor since 2014 to provide online tutoring to MU students in any course taught on campus or through one of MU’s online programs. Students can work with live tutors or drop off questions for the tutors to respond to later.

The Learning Center also provides 24/7 access to concept videos in select courses through Study Edge. Study Edge also offers a digital whiteboard, GoBoard, that students can use to work together remotely, accessible here: https://mizzou.goboard.com

The Study Plan Consultant (SPC) program will work with you to develop an individualized plan to identify the best approach to be successful in each course, and have the opportunity to follow up with the Study Plan Consultant to evaluate how your plan is working. Visit https://learningcenter.missouri.edu/study-plan-consultant/ to learn more.

Our Writing Center, which assists with any kind of writing at any stage of the writing process, has been offering writing support online since 1994. Students can submit to the Online Writery and receive detailed feedback from a writing tutor, typically in about 24 hours. The Writing Center’s website is here: https://writingcenter.missouri.edu/. The direct link to the Online Writery is here: https://onlinewritery.missouri.edu/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2f

The Learning Center’s TRiO and CLASS programs offer additional one-on-one or small-group tutoring for students from underrepresented groups. As with Tiger Tutors, all TRiO and CLASS tutoring will be online. We’ve updated all students in these programs.
